The interior design concept for Roots Coffee Shop in L’Aouina was developed to create a warm, inviting, and contemporary social destination where guests can relax, work, or gather with friends over tea, coffee, and light refreshments.
The project combines industrial influences with natural and organic elements, resulting in a balanced atmosphere that feels both modern and welcoming. The design language revolves around authenticity, comfort, and a strong sense of identity, reflecting the spirit of the name Roots.
A palette of warm wood finishes, exposed brick textures, soft neutral tones, and touches of greenery was carefully selected to establish a cozy environment while adding character and visual depth. The use of black metal accents and suspended lighting introduces an urban and contemporary aesthetic, creating an elegant contrast with the warmth of the natural materials.
The layout was designed to accommodate a variety of user experiences. Different seating configurations—including communal tables, intimate corners, banquette seating, and individual chairs—encourage both social interaction and moments of privacy. This flexibility allows the space to welcome diverse clientele, from groups of friends and families to students and remote workers seeking a comfortable setting.
Special attention was given to the lighting strategy. Decorative pendant fixtures and track lighting create a layered ambiance that enhances the architectural features of the space while ensuring visual comfort throughout the day and evening. Large openings maximize the perception of openness and allow natural light to enrich the interior experience.
Functional elements such as shelving and integrated decorative details contribute to the personality of the tea lounge, reinforcing the concept of a place rooted in simplicity, authenticity, and human connection.
